How To Take Killer Blog Pictures Without A Photographer

We’ve all been there. (That is, if you have a blog/instagram where you like to post pictures of yourself. Lol, that sounds so self-obsessed.) The sun’s come out to bless you, your outfit is on point, and your instagram slacking. Yet no-one seems to be available to hang out and take your pic. Yup, more self-obsessiveness right there. *why won’t anyone make time for meeeee?*

But sometimes front camera selfies just won’t cut it, and your followers are crying out for full outfits and posed-for candids which are just that bit harder to achieve on your own. So after a little tantrum, you give up all hope of a cute new pic, and turn to the archives of camera roll to see what you can dig up in the hope that no-one will realise it’s actually 3 months old when it’s tagged with #wiwt (what I wore today).

Well, those days are officially over, folks, because I’ve got a few tips to share with you on how to capture some killer blog shots sans photographer. For those dire times in need.

Tip #1:

A tripod is your friend. Especially if it’s extendable and quite tall. Or if you stack it up on whatever books/boxes/tables you have at hand.

Tip #2:

Don’t be afraid to shoot on your iPhone. Ngl, I attempted to shoot these pics on a DSLR attached to a tripod, and needless to say it didn’t end well. Tip #3:

A bluetooth remote is the best thing you’ll ever purchase. Self timer who?

Tip #4:

Choose a quiet place to shoot. There’s nothing worse than having people stare or point while you’re taking pics, and that’s even with a photographer there. If you’re in the comfort of only your own company then it’s way easier to move around and get those cool candid shots that your photographer normally snaps too.
