How To Dress Festive/Casual With Romwe

When it comes to the festive season, every high street and online shop starts promoting party wear and can you blame them? Pretty much everyone likes to get dressed up for christmas, but I’m here to tell you that dressing up and going out isn’t the only way to get yourself in the festive mood. I mean, why not have a whole wardrobe overhaul just in time for christmas? As I realise that may be a little difficult when we’re forking out on food, drinks and pressies already, this post is brought to you by Romwe. Affordable fashion at its finest, ladies and gents.

OK, so back to the point of this post. You may have already guessed by the title, but I’m here to show you how you can turn your normal, everyday wardrobe into a subtle-but-effective chrimbo spectacular. This is how you can get that festive/casual look in two easy steps.

Choosing a dressy piece but dressing it down is tip number 1. There are a few ways you can go about this but I chose to do it with lace and denim. Black lace makes everyone look snazzy and this cute crop is perfect for this time of year. Dressing it down with ripped mom jeans means you can take this top from night to day. (Rather than the usual day to night.) Don’t worry if lace isn’t really your jam. This look would easily work with velvet and tailored trackies as an alternative to jeans.

I’m wearing:

lace top c/o Romwe*

Topshop mom jeans

hoop earrings c/o Next* (old)

red star jumper c/o Romwe*

H&M skirt

Mango bag (sold out)

Tip number 2 is to pick the ultimate christmas colours and patterns, but tone them right back down. Think of it as like a christmas jumper that’s not actually a christmas jumper. No ugly nordic patterns, bells, or punny slogans here! This jumper is the perfect example of doing just that, and let me tell you, it’s also the cosiest little knit ever! So basically, when you think of christmas, you think of red and green, amiright? So a red jumper with stars all over it? It’s the perfect way of doing christmas without screaming I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!! We get it, christmas is great an’ all that but does our wardrobe really have to get that tacky just to let everyone know? With a little help from Romwe, I’m thinking not.
