The Importance of Your Jeans Hemline & A Little More Leopard

It was only earlier on this week when I shared a leopard print look with you, but there’s more coming your way tonight, just to prove to you how versatile this particular animal print is. The green and red printed sweat-top might have been a bit too in-ya-face for some people, but don’t disregard the print just yet. They say a leopard can’t change its spots but you can change its colour, and opt for something more subtle like these grey ankle boots.

I’m gonna swiftly move past the fact they’re from Next because yes, we get it now, I’m a little bit obsessed with them atm. What can I say? When their clothes and shoes are this good, it would be wrong of me not to buy them. What I did want to point out is that they’re a classic chelsea boot style, meaning they will last forever in your wardrobe, despite the trend-led pattern. Besides, I’m pretty sure leopard comes back in fashion every year.

The other star of the show in this post has to be these jeans. When you own as many pairs of denim as I do, it becomes very important to you to experiment with hemlines. Trust me, I’m not going crazy but when I see a pair of jeans now, all I wanna know is -do they have a good hemline? I’m still yet to get on the step-hem bandwagon, but Vetements definitely hit the nail on the head with those.

Maybe we’d never be able to afford a pair of those but Zara do some pretty nice alternatives, with these extreme frayed hem ones being the perfect example. If you’re going to get your hands on a pair like these from Zara, my style tip is to check the sizing. I’m normally a UK 6 because trousers are usually far too big around my waist but dare I say these size 6s were a little bit snug. I’ll definitely be going for a size 8 in Zara jeans from now on!

Have either of my leopard print posts convinced you to try out the animal print trend yet? Which are you going for – bright and bold or subtle and chic? xx Sophie
