Matte Lip Lacquer Recommendation with Born Pretty Store

When it comes to lip products I’m quite fussy. I’ve got a box full of lipsticks and glosses but to be truthful I only actually use a handful of them. As you know I’m a user of Born Pretty Store for jewellery and sunglasses but I hadn’t ever looked at the makeup they have on offer. When Jenny kindly offered for me to try out some more Born Pretty products, I immediately headed to their lipstick section to see if they had any products which could satisfy fussy ol’ me. These lip lacquers from the brand by nanda caught my eye and the pictures on the website looked really good and are actually really accurate at showing the finished look realistically. I picked out five shades and I’ve swatched them below.

I really love all five colours which is unusual for me because I generally like to stick to very neutral, natural lip colours. As these have a matte finish when dry, the colours don’t look so crazy and vibrant on the lips so they’re perfect if you want to try out some brighter shades but are a bit conscious about wearing them. They’re labelled as ‘lip lacquers’ which usually have a lot of shine like a lip gloss, so I’m more inclined to describe them as liquid lipsticks. They glide on wet but dry quickly into a matte, opaque finish – not patchy at all. The only thing I could think of which brings them down is that they are drying on the lips which makes them slightly uncomfortable to wear. I think you get this with any matte lip product really though, so it didn’t surprise me. Still, I’m loving the look of these lip lacquers and overall, I’m impressed!
