Party Season Trend: Velvet

There are two things I’m loving for party season this year: glitter and velvet. For myself, I’ve gone for glitter and have already purchased a couple of sparkly pieces, which will be coming to the blog soon! I didn’t want to leave velvet out though, so for those of you who are velvet-lovers, here’s an inspiration post for you with three of my velvet picks from the high street.

For me, a dress is the simplest option for a going-out look because there’s only one piece required, and the only things a dress has to match with are accessories -easy. I went for three different colours in the dresses I picked out online, but my favourite is definitely the first one from Ark. I haven’t seen any silver velvet around before, and I love the t-shirt-dress style of this one. I’m much more of a casual over formal type, so this one is perfect! For a bit of festive colour and something you can really go to town on the accessories with, I’d pick the second one from Missguided. Burgundy is one of my favourite colours for the winter and makes a nice change from black. I also love the third dress from a brand called Jaded London (which I found on ASOS) because it’s so quirky with sun/moon/stars print. I’m really into the long sleeves on this one too.
