Elegant Touch Express Nails Review

You probably know that I always love painting my nails, and wear nail polish 95% of the time. I went through a stage a couple of years ago of doing nail art -I had my mum buy all of the nail art pens for me, and I copied designs from Cute Polish on youtube and the Wah book of nails (check out their instagram here for real nail envy!) One thing I never tried though was fake nails. They brought to mind french manicure nails -something I’ve never been a fan of- so I steered clear of those. However since I’m a lazy person by nature, these fake nails have started to become more and more appealing to me recently. I saw Zoella wearing Elegant Touch and on my next shopping trip to Boots, I checked them out. They were on a 3 for 2 offer and I needed to spend a certain amount of money to use a voucher I had, so I went for it and bought three sets of their Express nails, basically no-glue-needed-nails. This was good, since I don’t own any nail glue anyway! They’re packaged really nicely and you get a good amount of nails and sizes in each box. I loved these ombre ones; all of the style but none of the mess. Trust me, I’ve DIYed ombre nails and it was one of the messiest designs. Imagine sponging polish all over your fingers!

It felt weird at first to have nails on top of nails, and as I started to get used to the feeling, this happened! I found the pre-glued nails moved about if they were pushed, and dug into my nail bed if I wasn’t careful. I don’t have the patience to be really careful with my nails, so I was concerned about how they would stay on while I was at work, and I ended up taking them off before I went in for my shift. The good news is they came off super easily with a bit of warm water!

I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t hold very well on my nails as I loved the look of them and wanted to get my money’s worth (they rrp at £7.99 for one set). I may have been a little bit paranoid and taken them off too soon, but I wasn’t confident that they would stay on my fingers and worried they would ping off into someone’s shopping! I’m saving the next set for my week off work at the end of the month, so I’ll no doubt be posting photos then! I’d say go for them if you’re just off on a night out or want them for a weekend away or a holiday. They’re a good excuse not to do the washing up too!

  1. I absolutely hate painting my nails. I think it takes so much effort and time. I honestly prefer fake nails by Elegant Touch. They are, by far my favourite brand of nail. 🙂
