Transitional Pieces

NCFaztecskirt-2

This skirt is another great charity shop find. It’s a Topshop original and is, in my opinion, a perfect transitioning skirt from late summer to autumn/winter. It’s hard to tell in the photographs, but it’s quite a thick material and I feel like the colours make it perfect all year around, whether you’ve got bare legs and flats on, or whether you’re cosied up in wooly tights and boots. I shot these photos are couple of weeks ago, so I was lucky enough to wear the skirt with bare legs before the end of summer. The thing about summer in England though, is that you can still get away with wearing a knitted jumper! Rolling the sleeves up and going bare-legged makes it OK! For shoes, I went with my Stella McCartney-esque platform brogues because I thought that was more interesting than lace up heels. Either would have been good, but flats are more my thing (I’m still learning how to walk in heels anyway!).

I’ve got a day off work tomorrow and I’m travelling to see some of my family. What are your weekend plans?
