This may look like a minimal make-up look to most people, but the truth is, I don’t usually wear this much make-up on a day-to-day basis. I always do my eyes, but usually with just a bit of eyeliner and mascara and, on occasion, I’ll bother to apply some subtle eyeshadow too. It’s partly out of laziness that I don’t wear anything else on my face, but I also hate the idea of completely covering my skin in thick foundations and powders. Plus, my skin gets so dry when I wear a lot of make-up, so I decided it wasn’t even worth it. This Rimmel BB Cream is what changed my mind, though. I got about five of them as free samples with another online order, and I really wanted to try them.
On one of Niomi Smart’s make-up blog posts, I saw that she simply used a BB Cream instead of foundation, because it was so much lighter and gave a more natural coverage, so I thought I’d try that too. With the help of my Clinique cream (which is actually a body butter but works great for dry-prone areas like my face) I managed to get a decent make-up routine together, and here I am, sharing it with you.
Since I put this together, I’ve only applied it about 2 or 3 times, but I’ve liked it each time. For my eyes, I took the time to actually apply some decent eyeshadow, and it was really simple with the use of my Bourjois Smoky Eyes Trio. It even shows you on the back how to create a good look, if you’re a beginner or aren’t really used to make-up application like me! I switched it up a bit and used only two of the shades. I took the third shade from my Fearne Cotton palette, because I think the gold in that one is really soft and a beautiful subtle, natural colour to go with my skin tone.
Light coverage and simple to apply. Perfecto!

[…] will be used a lot on my face this month. My Bourjois eyeshadow trios (which have been talked about here and here before) are still my favourite shadows to use, although I’m more a fan of eyeliner […]
