Since it’s so huge at the moment (especially in vintage and charity shops) I thought I’d do a guide to velvet. It can be dressed up for party-wear, or dressed down for a more casual look. My favourite is the simple black dress. Although it’s the style of a typical party dress – the LBD – it can be instantly dressed down by adding a slouchy cardi and a pair of biker boots.
